This weekend, we drove 12 hours to Pennsylvania from Birmingham. What a drive. We ate New Castle food, and we brought some home of course. We visited friends and family, attended a fall festival, took a Sunday nap, and were apart for our first night. The husband got his teeth checked, and we drove 10 hours back to Huntsville.
It doesn't sound so busy, but it is surely was. And while it was nice to go back, it is nice to be here too.

...because it was my first attempt at freezing for future desserts.
...because it was a Pinterest recipe that I enhanced with honey.
...as it was a gift from a friend, and Karl wrote a note before work.

Stay Busy
Without a job and my husband working 2 pm-10 pm this week, the afternoons and evenings can seem a little long. There are only so many dishes to be washed, carpets to be swept, and meals to make.
.
I have finally made it to the gym, and I did sit poolside for a day. But now what? Lately, I have been watching "Orange is the New Black." Not necessarily the best show to watch, but it has sucked me in. Organizing rooms without my other housemate is a bit overwhelming because I don't want to move things without making sure it's the best place to lay our "stuff" to rest. I have organized, cleaned, and moved all my important "things" (aka teacups, teapots, and office supplies) to the various places of my heart's desire.
Any ideas as to books to read, shows to watch, or hobbies to take up?

Snapshots
With all the hustle and bustle of the past month, these snapshots are from the many weeks I have been away.
This fruity drink...
This mess...
Karl's lunchbox...
This blended peppermint mocha...
This sad, little puppy...
This fruity drink...
...because its tropical sweetness is missed.
This mess...
...because this awaited our return.
Karl's lunchbox...
...because I pack it full every morning.
This blended peppermint mocha...
...because it replaces BFCAT-goodness, but only barely.
This sad, little puppy...
...because his eyes are truly sad. Adoption day at Petco is rough.

Blessed
Since the wedding, honeymoon, and the move blew over, I have never felt so content. True, I miss my family and friends and the every day craziness that comes with living in a house full of girls. And yes, I miss the "known" roads and restaurants and stores.
But I'm settling in our home a little more each and every day. I like not living out of a suitcase and my travel bags. I'm blessed with a husband who takes care of me and loves me despite my fatigue and hunger on the long days when we have to run around. And there is still work to be done while he is at work; but it's okay. There is quite the reward at the end- Karl bought me books before he left (on the advice of a friend). Happiness.

On the Side
There has always been a part of me interested in fashion. I would never have been cut out for that world; my skin is much too thin. But while discussing part-time career options if a teaching job does not materialize, a personal shopper does not sound so bad after a day of subbing. I just would never count it as income, because I am sure it will go right back to the store.
